For years, I felt physically unwell, couldn't get off my feet, was easily tired and I was not comfortable in my own skin. I was angry with myself when I saw others losing weight and I couldn't manage.
I tried different diets to lose weight. Sometimes I managed to lose 10 kilos on a starvation diet, but when I stopped, the kilos would fly back on.
Early last year I saw how a friend had lost a lot of weight with NewFysic, very good of her, I want that too! After waiting another month, I had an intake interview with Ilona from NewFysic on March 8, 2019.
I was measured and weighed and was quite overweight and had an unhealthy BMI, of course this was not new to me. Ilona had no judgment about it, she reassured me by explaining how NewFysic works. I decided to go for it and had to set a target weight, which I found very difficult, first I had to see that I could lose weight, I had no confidence in myself that I would succeed. We decided to start with 5 kilos off. I got my own nutrition plan and started. I lost weight almost every week, it went like a rocket.
Why does this work for me:
- Weighing every week helps. ( big stick).
- Constant conversations about success experiences or if the result is not what you expected, we went over what I had done differently this week.
- You learn to navigate social occasions, what are the right choices, e.g. what dressing, sauces separately etc.
- Not going to stack, if you do take a pastry, then go back to your own nutrition plan.
- It's a healthy way of cooking, roommates join in without question, without feeling like they have to go on a diet too.
- You have 5 meal times.
- Working out doesn't have to be. Sport is not really my thing, healthy of course. I did start walking and cycling more.
And yes, I lost weight, The first dress size was off within a month. New target weight: another clothing size.
I kept doing that. In small steps of 1 clothing size, without a final weight in mind. I noticed that I became more and more energetic and this lifestyle suits me fine. On November 8, 8 months after I started, I reached my milestone of 7 clothing sizes. That was a very cool experience. Nice reactions around you, rediscovering clothing stores.
With the holidays approaching, I was excited to see if this would continue to go well. But I stayed on weight, the kilos are still off.
Of course I also ate other things with the holidays, but always picked up the thread. I managed to navigate during holidays.
As a result, I weigh less now than I did 35 years ago. How cool is that!
