Hoeveel water heb je nodig?

How much water do you need?

It is incredibly important to drink enough water, especially while losing weight. How much do you need daily to stay healthy? In any case, if you don't drink any water at all, your body won't last long.

Balance

Your body loses water throughout the day as you sweat, urinate and defecate. So you need to make sure those supplies are constantly replenished by drinking so your body can stay balanced. But what then is "enough"? And is there such a thing as too much?

Thirst

If you take in less water than you lose, you can become dehydrated, i.e., dehydrated. You will feel thirsty. If you ignore these signals at that moment and don't drink, you become sleepy, tired and confused. You may also cramp up or become unconscious. If you stop drinking altogether, you may even die. So replenish those reserves in time. But don't worry: most people recognize thirst signals very well and will drink a glass of water.

Too much water

Too much water is not good for you. By drinking a lot of water in a short period of time, you also lose a lot of water and salt as a result. So your body gets out of balance. This will not happen so quickly if you just stick to the daily amount.

Enough water

To keep your body balanced, the recommendation is to drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily. Exactly how much depends on your body and your daily activities. Do you exercise a lot? Then drink a little more. Listen carefully to your body and never ignore signals of thirst. This article was written by Bart (37).
