Are you one of those people who can't even eat a cracker and already want something else? Or makes a bowl of yogurt right after dinner or maybe opens a bag of chips? This could be going on.
And once you know what's causing it, you can start adjusting your habits.
Drinking too little
You may be confusing hunger and thirst. So when you feel hungry, first drink a glass of water, then wait 5 minutes and consider whether you really want to eat something else.
You chew too much gum
Chewing gum can be a temporary solution when you are hungry; after all, you have something to chew on without eating. But chewing gum actually has the opposite effect: The saliva your mouth produces while chewing makes your body hungry. Better not to chew gum anymore.
You get bored
Who doesn't do it: eating out of boredom. To prevent this, you can make sure you make your plan for the day as early as the morning. Once you know what your plan for the day is, you will be less likely to have a gap in your day and snack as a result.
You've been drinking alcohol or sugar
Both a hangover and eating a sugary snack quickly create hunger (or rather "cravings") again. So moderate the alcohol and drink at least two glasses of water per glass of wine. Sugary snacks are also not a good idea. They cause your blood sugar level to fluctuate, resulting in snacking between meals.
Apples
Apples are a delicious and responsible snack, but make you hungry pretty soon after the last bite. This is due to certain substances in the apple that regulate your metabolism. Keep eating apples, but keep this in mind (for example, only eat an apple if you know you will have dinner or lunch in half an hour).
