Breakfast on time
Don't wait hours after getting up to eat your breakfast, but eat within an hour of waking up. Eating gives energy, which is exactly what you need on such a day. Make sure you eat a healthy breakfast full of protein. That protein converts your body into energy and ensures that you do not reach for something unhealthy during the rest of the day. And let's face it: that happens faster when you're tired.
Go outside
Your body needs sunlight to wake up and stay awake. So don't get in your car to work right away, but take a walk around the block first. Take a walk outside during lunch or sit on a bench outside to eat your lunch instead of inside the cafeteria. Really, sunlight does wonders for your energy and mood.Easy on the caffeine
You can absolutely have a cup of coffee, it can help give your body the kick start it needs. But don't drink too much: you don't need the energy dips you get after each cup today. So instead of coffee, drink a cup of thee of een glas fris of water.Foto: Kinga Cichewicz via Unsplash.
